When I asked what time that was, the girl asked me to tell her.she had no idea what time they were open until. When we arrived, we rented a double stroller for $23 (very expensive) and were told it needed to be back before the park closed. The amusement park was our next disappointment. We left for the amusement park and figured it would be taken care of.

We called down to the registration desk and they did send house keeping and maintenance to our room. Upon entering our room we were met with an overpowering smell of stale cigarettes (I did not expect this at a non smoking facility) and within 20 minutes encountered our first few issues: We discovered mold in the refrigerator and our sink was clogged and would not drain. We arrived around 1pm and were able to check in a little early which was nice, however that is where the "nice" ends. The resort offers a number of separate activities that can be booked individually, including a Teddy Bear Picnic and a kids’ Paint and Sip.We stayed July 6th through 8th 2015. There are also two gift shops, and a kids’ club. Other amenities at the resort include the Tranquility Spa for adults and the Cupcakes Kids Spa for kids. Towels are available, but I’d recommend bringing your own, because they are small and ran out at points in the afternoon.Īt the water park, you’ll find a wave simulator, lazy river, tube water slides, raft ride, and little kids’ area with various water features. My kids really enjoyed the slides and the lazy river, although the water in the slides was apparently cold. During our stay, it was open from 9am-9pm, and we usually visited first thing in the morning.

Guests of the Great Escape Lodge receive free admission (day passes are available for those who aren’t staying at the lodge). While there are plenty of activities at the lodge, the White Water Bay water park is the big draw here however. We brought our own breakfasts to eat in the room, but did have dinner at Johnny Rocket’s one night and really enjoyed it. There’s Tale Tales Tavern right off the lobby, the Birch Bark Grill snack bar in the White Water Bay water park, and the Bear Claw Cafe coffee bar in the lobby, along with a Johnny Rockets restaurant and sports bar. If you are hungry, there are lots of options right within the resort. These new suites include nicer carpeting and toiletries, and access to the Great Northern Cafe for an included Continental breakfast. Other room types at the Great Escape Lodge and Indoor Waterpark include traditional suites (with no separate cabin area for kids), and the newer Great Northern Suites. Other reviews I’ve read of the hotel state that the beds are comfortable, so I’m wondering if that bed was an anomaly. I’m usually able to sleep pretty well in hotel beds, but after the second night, I had a bad backache. In addition, our bed was very uncomfortable. I would recommend requesting a room away from the stairs if possible. We were adjacent to the staircase and it was a little loud, even late at night (the hotel has quiet hours starting at 11pm, but my kids are always in bed way before that). While the room was a nice size with great amenities, the room location we got wasn’t optimal. My kids loved having their own private suite. Although there’s an open ceiling and no door to the cabin, it definitely feels like a private space just for the kids. The Adirondack-themed kids’ cabin has bunk beds and a television. The suite also offers a desk, table, refrigerator, and microwave. The room itself is larger than a standard hotel room and offers a queen bed with a pull-out couch.

We arrived at the Great Escape Lodge about an hour before check-in, and while the lobby and check-in counter were crowded, we were able to get right into our room.
